The Coleslaw Conundrum: A Culinary Catastrophe at The Org
Updated: Oct 1, 2023

You know, when it comes to potlucks at The Org, we’ve seen some wild dishes grace our lunch tables. From glowing jello to flame-spitting hotdogs, there's never a dull moment. But last week's potluck lunch will go down in The Org's history as the most memorable – or should I say, the most disastrous?
It all started innocently enough. Betty, our head secretary and the Dark Overlord's right-hand woman, decided to bring her homemade coleslaw. Now, if you've ever had a conversation with Betty, you'll know she's more about organizing files than flavor profiles. But hey, we all love a good coleslaw, right?
When Mort, one of our most seasoned henchmen, first scooped a generous portion onto his plate, no one batted an eye. It had that familiar greenish glow we've come to expect from our workplace meals. But by noon, all hell broke loose.
I've seen a lot during my time at The Org, but nothing quite like this. The medical wing was buzzing with activity, with fellow henchmen and henchwomen coming in clutching their stomachs. Even Dr. Mal Prisco, who's usually unflappable, looked genuinely alarmed.
The investigation was swift, and all fingers pointed to Betty's coleslaw. Turns out, there was a mix-up with the mayo. Instead of the store-bought kind, Betty had accidentally used an experimental substance from Lab 42B. And let's just say, it wasn't exactly FDA-approved.
Betty, bless her heart, was mortified. "I just wanted to make something special," she lamented. Meanwhile, Steve, after consuming a rather generous helping of the coleslaw, reported some... interesting side effects. I won't go into details, but let's just say he's going to need a new wardrobe.
HR was quick to respond, introducing a new potluck protocol. And brave Larry, our intern, has volunteered to be the official taster. If he survives the next potluck, I think he deserves a promotion.
For now, we've learned our lesson: stick to what you know. And maybe keep the experimental substances far, far away from the kitchen.
Until next time, stay safe, and maybe think twice before you reach for that coleslaw.
