The Ketchup Incident: A Day in the Life of a Henchmen

The life of a henchmen is, unsurprisingly, not without its quirks and comedic pitfalls. Let me tell you about one of the most memorable assignments I've ever been on: the "Great Assassination" that wasn't.
It all started one morning when our boss handed down the mission. My task was straightforward: to discreetly eliminate a high-profile target during a gala event. With the blueprints in hand and my trusty tools by my side, I felt prepared.
While scouting the venue a day before, I decided to grab a quick bite at a nearby diner. I ordered a mountain of fries and generously poured ketchup over them. Little did I know, this would lead to one of the most embarrassing moments of my henchmen career.
On the day of the gala, dressed to the nines and blending in with the crowd, I positioned myself in a strategic spot, awaiting the perfect moment. As the target approached, my adrenaline surged. But just as I was about to make my move, I felt something wet on my hand. Looking down, I was horrified to see a bright red stain spreading across my pristine white shirt. The ketchup bottle from the diner had betrayed me, leaking all over my outfit.
To make matters worse, a nearby waiter, seeing the stain, shouted, "He's bleeding!" Panic ensued. Guests ran in all directions, thinking I was the one who'd been attacked. Security guards rushed to the scene, and I was tackled to the ground, not for attempting an assassination, but for being a victim of a "ketchup attack."
The target, unaware of my true intentions, even came to my aid, expressing concern for the "wounded" guest. The irony wasn't lost on me.
After being "rescued" by the event's medical team and deemed harmless (much to my embarrassment), I made a hasty exit, my mission an utter failure. But as I left, I could hear chuckles and whispers about the "ketchup guy."
Back at the lair, I faced the expected ribbing from my fellow henchmen. For weeks, I would find bottles of ketchup placed conspicuously on my desk, along with notes reading, "Stay safe!" or "Watch out for rogue condiments!"
It wasn't my proudest moment, but it was a stark reminder that in the world of henchmen, the unexpected is always lurking around the corner. Sometimes, it's not a superhero or a cunning trap you need to watch out for, but a humble bottle of ketchup.
Till next time, remember: always check your equipment and your condiments.
