We have uncovered the long awaited existence of Big Foot. Is this person/being real or is he a myth? A man discovered the true identity of Big Foot ten years ago and has decided to reveal his experiences after the passing of this being. This is not a ghost-hunting story like most would make Big Foot out to be. This is a story of a man with a secret that he could not reveal to world. A story of a man who tried so hard to fit in with the average person, but was far from ordinary.

A few weeks ago, we had a man arrive at our office stating that he knew the whereabouts of Big Foot. At first, I thought this was just another person claiming fame, but this man seemed genuine so I sat down to have a chat with him. His name was Tom and he grew up in an undisclosed city in Washington State. He advised that he was a call center worker who had been at his job for many years and was in charge of training the new hires. There was a man that he trained that stood out to him, but he wasn’t sure as to why. This man was tall like many others, deepened voice, and moved almost like an awkward ogre. He struck Tom as odd but felt there was something more under the brutish exterior.

As Tom trained this new employee, they began to be friends. Both were unmarried and did not make much as call center representatives and decided to be roommates and purchase a house together. He had always noticed that his friend could grow a beard almost if overnight, but he didn’t think too much of it. His friend would disappear quite often for hours on end and state that he “just liked to go for walk in the woods at night to clear [his] head.” Tom understood this as their work was quite taxing on the emotions, but thought it wasn’t safe especially since people would get lost in the woods in their area, not to mention the bear sightings. His friend assured him that he could take care of himself because he and his family would often hunt in the woods and “go camping.”

Tom thought his friend odd, but a kind wild man of nature. He thought his friend was just an introverted lover of nature until one night when he awoke to the sound of an animal rushing away from their house which was quite large and hairy. Tom thought it was a bear, but it was strangely shaped like a man. He went to his friend to discuss the creature he saw, but his friend was not in his room. Tom was concerned that his friend went for a walk with this creature on the loose and he decided to go to the woods with his rifle in case his friend was hurt. He saw rustling on the side of the road and got out of his car to make sure this was just an animal and not his friend being eaten by something. He called for his friend and he heard a reply from his friend to “[not] come any closer.” Despite his friend’s wishes, he shined a light into the woods and saw a man-like being covered in auburn hair. He was taken aback until the beast spoke and the voice was the voice of his friend’s.

Startled by what he saw, Tom drove both of them back to the house. His friend explained that he was actually what was called “Big Foot.” He said that he was not quite human, but genetically, closely related. He advised that his family had been killed by hunters and frightened people in the woods at different times in his life. His “people” moved closer to humanity to live a more civilized life, but this venture cost his whole species their lives. He was the last one left as far as he knew and continued to hide amongst people to live the dream that his parents had. He was very self-conscious about being the only “Big Foot” left. For one reason, some people sought after him as though he were some sort of oddity. Another concern is that he would be killed because people may consider him an animal rather than a human. Even his species didn’t have a name for themselves. They just decided to go with the name that humans had provided them, “Big Foots.”

His feet grew only in the evening so that he could hunt for food, otherwise, his feet did not seem particularly large. He told Tom that he had wanted to tell him for many years, but was afraid of his reaction. Tom said that although this was quite different than what he was used to, it didn’t really bother him. The two remained friends until Big Foot’s passing. Unfortunately, Big Foot met an early death like the rest of his family. He was taking one of his nightly walks when there was a group of hunters. The hunters mistook him for a bear and shot him. Tom didn’t see his friend come home and went to the wood to find him. There his body laid and he was devastated by the loss. The coroner stated that the blow was to the head and he couldn’t have survived it even if Tom had found him earlier.

Tom made arrangements for the funeral. Since both men didn’t have family, Tom invited everyone from the office. Everyone loved Big Foot for he was a gentle giant being almost a foot taller than Tom. While grieving for his best friend’s loss, he decided to come to our office for this exclusive interview. He knew that Big Foot would not want fame from who he was. He just wanted to be understood and to enlighten those who are still searching for Big Foot to this day. To Tom’s knowledge, there may not be another Big Foot, but it is not beyond possibilities. He wanted this article to be one to elevate his friend and to remember the kind person who felt that he couldn’t be who he truly was for fear of scrutiny. "Long live my friend, Ted Wachowski," stated Tom through his tears. Tom said he has since retired and paid off their house. Tom is going to research more about Ted's lineage and share the knowledge of Big Foot with the world. He hopes that this will spread enlightenment and understanding so that people will be more accepting of the unknown in the future.
