Brian Lamont, 64, claimed earlier this week that he had an idea that would make him a millionaire. Growing up in a lower class town in southern Louisiana, Lamont never had much, but he always had a sharp mind. Yet when he needed it most, it failed him, because Lamont forgot the million dollar idea only a few seconds after he had it.
"I was standing right in my kitchen," Lamont said. "The idea came to me! I began thinking of how to expand it. I was overwhelmed with the emotion that I had finally discovered this great idea. Then after my heart slowed down, and I stopped daydreaming about the money, I realized I couldn't for the life of me remember what the idea was!"
"I realized I couldn't for the life of me remember what the idea was!"
Lamont claims this isn't the first time it has happened. "In the late 70's, right before I graduated high school, I came up with the idea for the skippit!" The skippit is a toy that you spin around your ankle and jump over as it comes, or rather "skip it". "Unfortunately, I forgot it almost immediately. Then at my college graduation I saw my little niece using one. I remember thinking 'that was the idea! I missed it!'"
"I also came up with text messages. I was in a job in 1989 where it hit me! Sending words through a mobile device! But again, I immediately forgot. Then three years later they announced the possibility." Lamont's wife claims he is making all this up for attention. "He's always claimed he has these great ideas and immediately forgets them. You'd think if he was thinking this fast all the time he would've acted on at least one of them. But instead I just get these garbage stories over and over again."
"You'd think if he was thinking this fast all the time he would've acted on at least one of them."
Lamont also claimed he came up with the condenser microphone I used to record the interview. While we may never be able to hold on to these ideas as they come to him, this reporter will keep an eye on Brian Lamont and his quick, but not quick enough, mind.
