A local man, whose identity has not been revealed, caused quite a stir at the local library recently when he refused to pay a measly five cents as a late fee. The incident took place when the man, known only as "the late book guy," attempted to return a book titled "How I Beat Allergies."

According to eyewitnesses, the librarian on duty, a certain Dorothy Esquire, politely informed the man of the 5-cent late fee, to which he responded with a bellowing "FAKE NEWS!" The man then proceeded to throw a temper tantrum, knocking over bookshelves and demanding to speak to the library manager.

Dorothy Esquire, who was clearly shaken by the ordeal, stated that she wants the judge to "throw the book at him," as she tried to reason with the man but to no avail. "It's a sad day when people don't respect the rules of the library," Esquire said. "We run on a tight budget, and every penny counts. It's just a shame that some people don't understand that."

The incident has sparked a flurry of activity on social media, with many people taking sides on the issue. Some have even suggested that the man in question should be banned from the library altogether, while others have defended his right to refuse to pay the late fee.

As for the man himself, he remains defiant in the face of criticism, insisting that he will not pay the late fee. "It's the principle of the matter," he said. "I shouldn't have to pay 5 cents for being a little late with a book. It's outrageous."

At the time of this writing, the man's fate remains unknown. Will he pay the late fee and make amends with the library? Or will he continue to hold out and risk facing legal action? Only time will tell.
