Hollywood has influenced how we interact with each other for over a century. It is where we find connection with ideas, where we relate to each other, and where we learn how to show our happiness. From quoting your favorite movie, to learning the dance from the classics of the 80's everyone has embodied their favorite movies at one point or another. Unfortunately, when the movies promote unsafe behavior, the fans suffer the consequences.

Jeremy Tonda, 34, had just proposed to his girlfriend of five years, Christina Schalz, when he realized he couldn't sit still. "It was a perfect evening," Schalz recalled. "Jeremy took me to our favorite seafood place downtown, then he picked up desert from this French bakery that I love and brought it back to my place. We were sitting with my dog who was giving us all the attention. We were staring into each others eyes when I looked down and saw the ring." They were engaged for about seventy minutes before disaster were to strike.

"We called my parents, we called his parents, we laughed and cried. Then he had to go home, he had a big meeting in the morning and needed his rest. I tried calling him a taxi, but he said he was so excited he couldn't sit still. He said he wanted to go out into the rain." Tonda couldn't help himself. He just had to go singing in the rain. He was so excited, and that's how movies have told him you show excitement. "Oh how I wish I would've made him take that cab. Or at least not take my umbrella." It was Christina's umbrella that caused the accident.

Oh how I wish I would've made him take that cab."

It was the old style umbrella with a steel rod that actually attracted the lightening that would strike Jeremy down in the middle of the road as he was in the middle of a kick ball change. "Now I'll never be Mrs. Tonda!"

We reached out to Jeremy for comment, but he was unable to respond as he was dead.
